Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Groomera, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should have equal access to our booking management platform, marketplace, and all related services, regardless of their abilities or the technologies they use.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform and strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.

Our goal is to create an inclusive digital environment that works for all users, including those who:

  • Are blind or have low vision
  • Are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Have mobility impairments or difficulty using a mouse
  • Have cognitive, learning, or neurological disabilities
  • Use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification software, voice recognition software, or alternative input devices

Accessibility Standards

WCAG 2.1 Level AA Compliance

Groomera is committed to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. WCAG 2.1 is an internationally recognized set of guidelines developed by the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

WCAG 2.1 Level AA includes requirements for:

Perceivable:

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content (images, videos, audio)
  • Offering captions and transcripts for multimedia
  • Presenting content in different ways without losing meaning
  • Making it easier for users to see and hear content (sufficient color contrast, resizable text)

Operable:

  • Making all functionality available from a keyboard
  • Giving users enough time to read and use content
  • Avoiding content that causes seizures (e.g., flashing lights)
  • Providing ways to help users navigate and find content
  • Supporting multiple input methods beyond keyboard (touch, voice, mouse)

Understandable:

  • Making text readable and understandable
  • Making content appear and operate in predictable ways
  • Helping users avoid and correct mistakes (clear error messages, input assistance)

Robust:

  • Maximizing compatibility with current and future assistive technologies
  • Using valid, standards-compliant HTML and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) markup

Status: In development

Known Limitations and Issues

We are committed to transparency about our current accessibility limitations. As of May 1, 2026, the following known issues are being actively addressed:

Web Platform:

  • ⚠️ Some images may lack descriptive alt text; we are auditing and updating all images.
  • ⚠️ Some interactive elements may not yet be fully keyboard accessible; we are implementing keyboard navigation.
  • ⚠️ Color contrast on certain UI elements may not meet WCAG AA standards; we are reviewing and adjusting our color palette.
  • ⚠️ Some forms may lack clear error messaging; we are improving form accessibility.

Mobile Apps (iOS and Android):

  • ⚠️ Some app screens may not yet be fully compatible with VoiceOver (iOS) or TalkBack (Android); we are conducting screen reader testing.
  • ⚠️ Some touch targets may be smaller than the recommended 44x44 pixel size; we are resizing interactive elements.
  • ⚠️ Some custom UI components may lack proper ARIA labels; we are adding accessibility labels.

Desktop Apps (Windows and macOS):

  • ⚠️ Desktop apps are being evaluated for accessibility; keyboard navigation and screen reader support are in development.

Third-Party Services:

  • ⚠️ Some third-party integrations (Stripe checkout, Easyship shipping, social media embeds) may have accessibility limitations beyond our control. We are working with vendors to improve accessibility and providing alternative methods where possible.

We are actively working to resolve these issues and expect to make significant progress in the coming months.
